VBS Day 3

As I'm sure you surmised by the title, today is the third day of VBS. Leilani is having an incredible time! Her favorite part is still the singing *grin*. While Leilani was doing VBS, Natalia and I took another two mile walk. Today, we got really close to nature. First, a squirrel stopped on the sidewalk right in front of us, he just sat there and looked at us. Then scampered over to a tree. Apparently, he spent our entire walk there, because when we came back, he was still there by the tree. But the truly spectacular moment was when there were two deer just yards from us. First one came out, she couldn't decided whether to cross the street or not, and since a car was pretty close I pleaded with her to stay put. She did, but then decided it was time to cross the street. I felt a bit worried, since there was another car coming up quickly, but both she and her friend made it across. They were beautiful and graceful. I've never been so close to any deer before. It was amazing!

Leilani's class did a caterpillar craft today. It's called a "gospel caterpillar". The different colors represent different things: gold reminds us God loves us; black represents our sins; red reminds us of the blood Jesus shed to forgive our sins; white tells us Jesus will give us everlasting life if we believe on Him; and green represents our relationship with Jesus Christ.

After VBS, we ran to WalMart and got some activities to do in the car on our trip to Florida. We also got Madagascar. Neither Leilani nor I have seen it, so we had lots of fun watching it while eating chickenless strips.

Last night, the girls took a bath together, then sat on the couch for a few minutes. Natalia was listening so intently to Leilani as she told her about Jesus loving her, dying for her sins, and rising from the dead. It was so sweet and made me incredibly happy that not only do they love each other so much, but Leilani wants to make sure Natalia knows the important facts about Jesus.
